This role is placed in the Online Marketing team and is an ideal profile for individuals who are interested in the digital marketing/internet marketing fields.
The main objective of the Online Marketing Executive is to strategically drive traffic to specific book product and content pages on Packts website by managing the online marketing of Packts titles. The individual will be responsible for implementing complete marketing campaigns for Packt titles. The Online Marketing Executive strives toward building and managing relationships with high websites that will generate a consistent and large number of visitors to the company website and product pages. The goal is thus to maximize traffic from websites by making available Packt products (books and videos).
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Work with the editorial team to understand more about the book/video and its target audience
Research, identify and contact new communities to market Packts Products
Develop lists of appropriate high quality websites and individuals who can help promote the book
Work towards the overall objective of achieving a link from that website back to the books page at www.packtpub.com
Work closely with User Groups and community websites, developing a close relationship with members there to increase the number of links they publish as well as reviews they write of Packt books
Work with authors to encourage marketing activities and use them as a source of book reviewers and appropriate websites and encourage the author to publish information on his blog/website and other relevant sources such as forums, etc
Develop a list of individual contacts to write reviews on Amazon.com, Slashdot.org and other major review websites, sending them copies of our books in exchange for a review
Work with the marketing content to market content related to the book to increase exposure of the title.
